The work focuses very heavily on military tactics, with sections on how to organise and properly deploy night guards and watches, how to recognise enemy movements at night, the system of alert in the case of a (night) attack, how to organise a (night) guard in the case that the cavalry cannot be deployed (due to the terrain), how to accurately represent the terrain on maps and plans (in order to avoid difficult terrain) and the types of maps and plans necessary to war operations. With few particularities, the manuscript seems to be an instructional one, with the goal being that these tactics can be applied to any military situation.
