A lovely association copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper to fellow writer Enid Bagnold: ‘Lady Roderick, with the homage of the writer, John Buchan, July: 10: 23’ in black ink to the front free endpaper. In 1920, Bagnold had married Sir Roderick Jones, Chairman of Reuters. Scattered foxing to endpapers, light wear to extremities, spine only slightly faded, still a very good copy overall.
