The Modern Tailor Outfitter and Clothier.

A fine set. Doubtless acquired by Cornwell during his research for The Tailor of Panama: the cataloguer is disappointed that there appears to be no mention of corozo buttons, but there is a paean to Vicuña cloth. Most of the technical info on cutting is beyond the present cataloguer, but he appreciates the sound advice on salesmanship: “ … the first task of the salesman lies in careful observation int he process which is sometimes known as ‘sizing up’ …A cheerful courtesy is absolutely essential, but there is no necessity for the cringing servility which, though apparently common in the past, is now happily more frequent in fiction than in fact.“
