EHRENKATZ (Ezra D.)
The Modular Number Pattern. Flexibility through Standardization.
The pocket at the rear is slightly defective owing to extreme brittleness of its paper, seemingly due to a reaction with the celluloid of the model and the paper of the pocket: the same reaction has stained the lower cover, otherwise the book is fine. We have removed the model from the pocket and assembled it, using two replacement nuts and one replacement bushing: as you can see from the illustration the model has suffered some decay, resulting in various cracks. A fascinating item, seemingly rare in commerce. Ehrenkantz, then a student, presents a development of Bemis and Le Corbusier’s work on modular buildings. He went on to be a pioneer of modular buildings in the U.S.A.
