A presentation copy of Pasinetti’s doctoral thesis, inscribed by the author to the Nobel Prize winning Cambridge economist Richard Stone ‘To Professor Stone with compliments, Luigi Pasinetti’ in blue ink to the title page and with a holograph notation ‘21’ to verso of the title page.

An extremely rare privately-printed edition reproducing chapters II-IV of Pasinetti’s doctoral thesis submitted in September 1962 at the University of Cambridge, with a new short preface by Pasinetti dated ‘May 1963’, in which he advanced a multi-sector model of economic growth with different rates of technical progress in different sectors. The thesis has never been fully published in its entirety, but Pasinetti would later return to the subject in what would ultimately become his 1981 book Structural Change and economic Growth.
