Abstract art in 1970s Mexico
Out-of-print art book focused on Mexican artist Arnaldo Coen’s geometric art. The book was intended for private circulation, as a special gift for friends and colleagues of Imprenta Madero, the Mexican print shop and design studio headed by designer Vicente Rojo.
Coen, alongside the graphic designer Vincente Rojo was a major proponent of of the Mexican abstract art movement known as Rupture Generation, which broke from the prevalent nationalism in Mexican art at the time. For both Coen and Rojo, geometric shapes were a recurring theme in there work, making the present book a wonderful meeting of creative minds in the context of abstract Latin American art.
