Naked Lunch was first published in book-form in Paris by the Olympia Press in 1959. It had been censored in America following the publication of extracts in the literary journals The Chicago Review (1958) and Big Table (1959). When it was finally published in full in America, after Grove Press won a key anti-censorship case in Chicago, it included some material that Burroughs had edited out of the Olympia version. The book was, however, again censored and ruled obscene; this was overruled in 1966, marking an important step in the end of literary censorship in the United States.
Jacket a touch rubbed at extremities, spine panel very slightly faded, faint pencilled price to rear panel, otherwise a very good.
