Etching with colouring by hand (236 x 328mm). A good impression with excellent colour; neatly window-mounted into a sheet of laid paper and possibly laid down on another sheet of paper in order to repair some short tears at the edge of the sheet. London: by Walker, Oct^r^, 1807.
There are examples in the British Museum and Bodley and at Harvard and the Library of Congress.
A down-at-heal member of Napoleon’s army boasts about the success of “de grand Empereur” to an Englishman who blows a puff of smoke in the soldier’s face. The print is a response to the French victories on the Continent in 1807 such as the Battle of Friedland in June.
