An excellent study of the region of Al-Hasa, located in Eastern Saudi Arabia. Vidal was based there in the Autumn and Winter of 1951, working as Field Supervisor of the Malaria Control Program (run by the Aramco Research Division), and was able to gather an impressive amount of geographical, anthropological and economic information.
The book is well illustrated with photographs from Aramco’s documentary and photographic files.
