This copy is inscribed on the front free endpaper- “To Dawson Turner Esq. with kind regards from the author”. Inserted, to face the dedication page is a portrait of the author (not called for), from a private etching by Mrs. D. Turner. To face page 257 an additional plate has been inserted, comprising 3 illustration of Our Lady of the O.Dawson Turner’s Library was sold by auction in 1853, This book was boughtg by Sir Thos. Phillipps.
