Originally published in the 1820s, this, one of the Macmillan ‘Cranford’ series is an excellent copy of Mary Mitford’s classic study of rural customs, characters and scenery, revitalised through Thomson’s aesthetic design.
A very good copy, spine a little worn, neat contemporary gift inscription to half title, a little foxing to title page, and frontispiece tissue guard.
