The Palestine Police Magazine.

The foreword by Colonel W.N. Gray notes that this particular issue marks the reappearance of the Magazine, following its suspension in 1942, largely owing to wartime paper shortages. This issue opens with an obituary for the 23 police officers killed in the line of duty in 1946-47.

“His Majesty the King’s Commendation for Brave Conduct, rarely given, has been awarded posthumously to No. 3501 B/Const. R.W.H. Smith. He lost his life whilst attempting, single-handedly, to dispose of suitcase bombs that had been deposited in Jerusalem Railway Station by terrorists.”
