Contemporary speckled calf, spines with five double raised bands outlined in gilt, second and fifth panels lettered in gilt on blue morocco labels, the rest with gilt ornaments, covers with gilt roll-tool borders, marbled endpapers, blue sprinkled edges. An excellent set of this illustrated edition of Shakepeare’s works, including one plate engraved by William Blake after Henry Fuseli (Vol. 6, King Henry VII, p. 263). Joints slightly rubbed but holding firmly, contemporary ownership inscriptions of Elizabeth Sarah Gillingham to front flyleaves of each volume, some faint offsetting from plates, contents otherwise generally clean and unmarked.
