Iris Murdoch’s earliest obtainable printed work, an anthology of poetry edited by and with four contributions by her.

In 1938 Murdoch was head girl at her school, Badminton, and when Auden visited the school to read part of a play him and Isherwood were writing together, she sat next to him and convinced him to write the foreword to this little pamphlet of poems by Bristol school boys and girls. She had it published by Gollancz, and proceeds of the sales went to the Chinese Medical Aid Fund.

An exceptional copy, wrappers lightly creased and faded.
