The Prem Sagar; or, the Ocean of Love. Being A History of Krishn, According to the Tenth Chapter of the Bhagavat of Vyásadev.
Among the first books published in modern Hindi, Lál’s version of the tenth book of the Bhagavata Purana retold the legend of Krishna. His translation made the story accessible to readers from across the whole Hindi Belt and, for doing so, is recognised as a landmark in Hindustani language literature.
Lál’s translation was first published in Calcutta by the Sunscrit Press in 1810.
