Uncommon and fragile title. Williams was the author of Volume IV of the Times History of the War in South Africa, he served in the Boer War in the HAC Battery of the CIV alongside Erskine Childers. This copy has an interesting ms. appendix in which a reader has listed those 9 officers, veterans of the Boer War, who were still alive in 1952.
