The title essay, one of Orwell’s finest, is an allegory of British Imperialism, full of the anguish of the narrator’s painful duty in shooting a rogue elephant in Burma.
A very good copy, with some nicks and chips to the jacket, red on the spine panel faded, a few small stains to the front cover, neat ownership signature to front free endpaper. A difficult book to find in nice condition.
