First edition. A narrative of Palliser’s hunting trip through the American west in 1857, in which he describes the landscape, various prey, and Native American communities encountered. Palliser was later sent by the British government to explore the area between the Red River and Rocky Mountains, aiding in the settlement and development of the Canadian west.
