An excellent copy of Faulkner’s fourth novel, and his first to employ several modernist narrative styles together. Although it wasn’t initially a commercial success, it brought Faulkner critical acclaim, and is still considered by many to be his best.
The title derived from the famous soliloquy in Shakespeare’s Macbeth: “It is a tale/ Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, /Signifying nothing.”
An excellent copy, in the lightly rubbed, nicked and somewhat tanned dust jacket, with traces of old, internal tape repairs, spine panel faded, nonetheless unusual to see in nice condition.
