Inscribed on the front free endpaper by Thorndike, ‘Good luck, Eileen from Sybil Thorndike’, and in another hand, ‘For dear Eileen from Ronnie. Christmas 1963’. Possibly a gift to Thorndike’s younger sister, Eileen, who also became an actress. Loosely inserted is an ALS to Ronnie from Thorndike, signed from her and her husband Lewis Casson. Dust jacket price-clipped and worn at the extremities, two sellotape stains to the reverse of the jacket.
