FORES
Three Friends Going on a Visit.

Most likely a Dublin piracy of a print first published by Fores in London in 1796.

The print shows three men representing death, a doctor and undertaker riding on horseback, together they form a comic memento mori, and their visit is a euphemism for a journey to the grave – that is, a “visit” without a return.
