Münster’s Topographia was a sequence of thirty topographical volumes published by Matthaüs Merian (1593-1650), with the text composed by Martin Zeiller (1589-1661). The volumes were illustrated by Merian, an engraver from Basle, himself; he settled in Frankfurt and established one of the great publishing houses there, continued by his heirs into the 1680s.

This detailed description of Suevia (or Swabia) is illustrated with a fine series of maps, city plans and prospects, and plates which form a highly important, and carefully executed pictorial record of the region.
