John Hedley (1869-1936), missionary, lived in China between 1897 and 1912. He was affiliated to the Methodist New Connexion in Tianjin. In 1903, he set up a new mission station in Yongpingfu (Hebei Prov.) from where he undertook several journeys into Mongolia. The present is the account of his second trip which was first published in the North-China Daily News. He collected much physical and topographical data and was subsequently named a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. Uncommon.
