A charming naive view of the positions before the action, with a key and depiction of the three varieties of pike used by the rebels. Backed on buff paper measuring 185 by 190mm, 1798.
Musgrave’s Memoirs of the Different Rebellions in Ireland (1801), has an enlarged engraved version of this image with the legend slightly altered. Whether this is the original version or a copy of the print it is difficult to say.
