An important, pioneering work on the recycling of waste materials and the substitution of new, previously unexploited materials in place of traditional but vanishing materials - such as the use of vegetable products, rather than rags, to manufacture paper. The recipient of the inscription is presumably Artur Adolf Schwänger, Freihoff von Hohenbruch (1837-1902), who wrote several books on land use, agriculture and wine production in Austria. Edges lightly bumped, slightly dusty and some discolouration to the boards, otherwise very good.
