The first British edition of Hemingway’s novel set during the Spanish Civil War, originally published in the United States in the previous year, complete with the wonderful Hans Tisdall dust jacket.

A very good copy, spotting to endpapers and edges of text block, neat ownership inscription dated ‘1947’ to front free endpaper, contents otherwise generally unmarked, the cloth remains bright with only minor shelf wear to extremities, jacket slightly edge worn with minor chipping to tips of spine and corners, short closed tear to foot of front joint, rear panel slightly dust-marked.
