Pictorial account of a journey from Ichang to Chungking (Sichuan Province) with attractive large photographic plates. Nothing is known about the identity of ‘Le Palud’ who wrote a short account of the trip and took the photographs. Judging from the tone of the essay it would appear that the author is British and that the name is a pseudonym. Includes a charming account of a conversation with Mr. Kirk, “a jolly old American who travels on behalf of a big oil company”.
